ARTHUR TONG

Meet Arthur, Founder and Head Coach of Elevate Performance Coaching. Arthur is the heart and soul behind Elevate Performance Coaching, where his passion for sports, dedication to helping others, and genuine love for family all come together. As an IRONMAN Certified Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, and SG-Coach accredited with Singapore Aquatics and Triathlon Singapore, Arthur isn’t just about guiding athletes to cross the finish line — he’s about making sure each journey is meaningful, personal, and transformative. His own story is one of perseverance, growth, and a commitment to helping others achieve what once seemed impossible.
A Life Built on Family and Balance
Above all, Arthur is a devoted husband to Elaine and a loving father to their daughter Haley. Family means everything to him, and it shows in the way he supports his loved ones while balancing his own ambitions. For Arthur, family life is about finding that harmony between personal pursuits and being there for the people who matter most, never losing sight of what’s truly important.
An Athlete’s Journey: From Pool to Open Water
Arthur’s athletic path began in the pool as a junior competitive swimmer and has since taken him to the open waters and finish lines of IRONMAN and OCEANMAN events worldwide. His dedication to endurance sports has even led him to qualify for the Ocean World Championship. But beyond these personal milestones, Arthur’s real pride comes from helping others break barriers. He was the first guide in Singapore to compete in a triathlon alongside a person with autism, a role that reinforced his belief in the power of sport to create inclusive opportunities and lasting change.
Coaching as a Calling: Guiding Athletes to Their Best
Arthur’s coaching isn’t just about sharing expertise — it’s about sharing experiences, struggles, and triumphs. He specializes in helping age group athletes thrive in triathlon, with a particular talent for swim stroke analysis and stroke development for adults. His guidance has shaped countless journeys, from first-time triathletes to seasoned competitors aiming for the IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN World Championship.
Arthur's commitment to endurance sports extends beyond coaching. He played a pivotal role in the successful Guinness World Record-setting Project1000, where his friend Natalie Dau ran over 1000 km from Thailand, through Malaysia, back to Singapore in just 12 days. Arthur accompanied Natalie every step of the way, acting as navigator, medic, guide, coach, nutritionist, and close protection, showcasing his dedication and versatility in supporting others through extraordinary challenges.
Embracing the Endurance Community
Arthur is honored to represent some of the most respected names in the endurance sports industry, serving as an ambassador for Asics, Garmin, Oakley, Met Helmet, The Bike Settlement, SmilesAsia, and WeAreReady. His insights have reached the wider community through features in Run Magazine Singapore, SportsPlus, ActiveSG, Yahoo! News, and Expat Choice Asia, but for him, it’s about more than recognition. It’s about using his platform to inspire others to believe in their potential.
Giving Back: A Deep Commitment to the Community
Arthur’s belief in inclusivity extends beyond sports to his work with the special needs community. He was the first to take on the role of guide in a triathlon with a person with autism in Singapore, and that experience continues to drive his commitment to making sport accessible to everyone. Through Elevate Performance Coaching, he supports the special needs community with charity events, specialized coaching, and unwavering encouragement. For Arthur, helping others overcome their challenges isn’t just a part of his career — it’s part of who he is.
Arthur’s coaching philosophy is rooted in his own journey of growth, his deep respect for the athletes he coaches, and his love for his family. At Elevate Performance Coaching, it’s not just about reaching new heights; it’s about making the climb worthwhile, with a coach who believes in your potential every step of the way.
